UNISON survey demonstrates urgent need for change at East of England Ambulance Trust

UNISON have started a campaign in the East of England Ambulance Service to persuade the Trust to better support all staff. The campaign, “Put back the Heart‘ highlights the need for cultural changes throughout the Trust, and aims to make staff support a key priority in every decision.

UNISON surveyed over 1500 of the Trust’s 4000 staff to find out their views about working for the organisation.  The headline results include 65% of staff citing late finishes as causing them high levels of stress, and 55% of staff saying they are considering leaving because of this issue. Sickness management and increasing levels of individual performance management were also identified as causing high levels of stress.
