UNISON and the Trust agree measures to better support frontline staff

Following a number of weeks of negotiations between UNISON and the Trust, facilitated by ACAS, we have arrived at a position which we believe is genuinely beneficial and supportive of staff.

As a members led union, we are now seeking your views on that position, via a survey monkey – which like our consultative ballot requires membership details to be given to validate the data.

You can read the joint statement which covers the agreement here:

We are recommending members accept this position as a resolution to the formal dispute, with the proviso the Trust keeps to the spirit and word of the agreement.

We realise this process has taken time and we’re grateful for the energy our members continue to put into supporting our campaigning and negotiations.

As part of our Put back the Heart campaign last year you told us late finishes was the number one issue and the main reason hundreds of members were considering leaving. We have campaigned hard on this issue; from the 18,000 views of UNISON’s film and the thousands of people who supported our petition, it’s very clear there’s a lot of support out there for the work you undertake, and we will continue to work hard to see you better supported in your roles.

Kind regards,

Fraer Stevenson
