Speaking Up, Speaking Out workshop

Together we can change the way we all think and act about mental health – A one day workshop to explore ways you can take action to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems in your workplace, sharing ideas and working together with other amazing Blue Light Champions!

Why should I come along?

  • To explore how you can raise awareness of mental health in the workplace and take action to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems.
  • Think about your own personal experience of stress, anxiety, low mood or other mental health problems, and whether sharing this as a Blue Light Champion is right for you. If so, what might that look like?
  • Identify ways you can best look after your wellbeing as a Blue Light Champion.
  • Hear from other Blue Light Champions who have spoken out about their personal experience of mental health problems.
  • Get to meet and mingle with other Blue Light Champions from across the emergency services, ask questions, discuss ideas and chat through any concerns or problems you are facing.

Hear it from Champions –

  • “It was good to mix with other 999s and share views, practices and policies.”
  • “Thoughts on how to share my experiences helped and gave me positive ideas.”
  • “I found the reflection exercise very powerful…. Initially I felt like a bit of a fraud for not sharing my personal experiences but I have realised it’s my decision to make.’

When: 11th May, 15th June, 20th July, 24th August, 19th September
